Cowardice asks the question 'is it safe?'
expediency asks the question ' Is it politic?'
Vanity asks the question 'Is it popular?'
But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?'
and there comes a time when must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right.

REFLECTION: what this quote means is that it doesn't matter what you cowardice or other feelings say you should always trust your conscience to see if it is right. for example if you saw someone gave you drugs you would go to your conscience and not use the drugs and don't use your vanity as a feeling to help the situation.
